Idea for cooling down tank when needed

Could I put one of those little freezer pack things that you put in lunch boxes and such into a compartment of my filter when my tank gets too high?

Not sure, I would be afraid it might leak. get a liter bottle and fill with water then freeze it.

Ice cubes in a freezer bag is a favorite method. You don't want anything to leak, but if this does, it's just water.
