HI, i'm new to the board i have a 65 gallon flatback hex (48"x19"x21"). My filration will be done by 2 magnum 350's with 1 bio-wheel for each 350, a emperor 360 (or 300) with a bio-wheel. I also have a penguin powerhead a 300 something for extra water circulation. I dont have any real rockwork, just a few pieces of lava rock. I am interested in putting a picaso trigger in the aquarium, is my setup correct for it? Would it be possible add any other triggers as well or other fish. Would a porcupine puffer be a possible tankmate for the picaso?

You may need a little bit more for triggers. You can keep that trigger, or other's but if you keep them they won't stay that size there whole life. They will grow, and you will need a bigger tank, or get rid of the fish(By that I mean by selling to a fish store).

ya i think a huma and porc puffer would do great, my opinion would to get the puffer a inch bigger or so and to introduce him first

I keep seeing this type of question and I keep answering with the same story about the Porks I have seen almost dead from being in a tank with a trigger. Triggers in time will go after a Pork and especially the fins of the Pork. I have seen 2 at different times brought to my lfs which both died within days of being attacked by their Trigger tankmate. Now as always there will be a few that will get away with those 2 in a tank, but I would not try it. Porks are timid by nature (altho you never would guess so if you see a big one)and a Trigger is to fast for them to defend themselves and that is why the Trigger goes for the fins to avoid the spines. The only way I can see it working is if the Pork is much larger to start but then the Trigger may end up being the one in trouble- so is it worth it?

Hey Jimmy-- Welcome. You might want to post your question about tank setup on one of the other boards too, like Equpt and Fish Only. The experts around here (not including me--I'm amateur) who will give straight advice on filtration and set up & tell you how to set up a marine aquarium the right way (which for me has meant ditching some of the expensive worthless equipment that I bought stupidly @ advice of my lfs owner) so as to avoid expensive & emotionally draining mistakes in the future. That said, the best advice I would be able to give is to search those bulletin boards on 'protien skimmer' and 'live rock' or 'biological filtration'. Both of these additions are expensive, but seem to be indispensible, and it looks like you may not have them. Expert advice I can give you (based on my experience!)--if you have an undergravel filter, get rid of it, because it is only a matter of time before your whole system will crash, ignore anyone who tells a beginner differently. Hope this helps.
