Good morning everone! I wanted to get some advice on the best way to remove green BUBBLE ALGE. Or should I even remove it at all! I heard if it breaks it multiplies. What are some good ways to get it out? Thanks

i took the piece of LR out of the tank, and just took mine off... but i had a silvery bubble algae, so i'm not sure about the green... but if you take the piece of LR out of the tank, and it does pop, those little pores won't spread everywhere. Also, emerald crabs will eat it.

I've got a piece with a couple of bubbles on it. I was going to take it out, and remove it. A while back I tried to pull (the original one bubble) off while in the tank. It popped, and I now have three or four bubbles, and they came back quick. What's interesting, is on the other side of the rock there is another bubble but is cloudy/milky colored. Not like the normal bubble. Is it just a different type?

i personally like the look of bubble algea , call me crazy ........... but if you want to get rid of it , i would ,either take the rock out or when you are ready to do a water change do it with your power by putting a hose on it , then pump the water out and in the mean time suck the bubble algea up so the spores dont have a chace to spread

Foxface Rabbitfish.
They are pretty, venomous but eat the hell out of bubble algae. I have yet to see one tear up a reef (even though people have said it) as my LFS keeps putting them in his reef tank. I don't think he has had problems with the Foxface and his reef tank looks gorgeous.
Since he normally doesn't stock a lot of them, I suspect he's had a lot of requests for them and gets down to the last one in his reef tank and sells it. When he orders I think he has replaced it a couple of times.
