Could someone identify this coral for me? I got it for free at my LFS. I have FOWLR tanks. Its purple in color. The big one is in my QT tank, while in QT a little piece fell off so I rubberbanded it to some LR in my 80 gal. tank. I have power heads on both corals.... never really read up on them either... I attatched some pics... any help/ info would be great..thanks in advance.

thanks, will do some research. quick question tho, is there some kind of glue or something that I can use to attatch the coral to the rock so I don't have to use a rubberband?

I suggest the rubber band because it will attach naturally. I have never glued leathers and in my experience they are heavier than most corals. You would need a lot of glue as well.

How long does it usually take for a coral to "attatch" to the rock? Should I leave the rubberband on till it (rubberband) falls off????

A fresh cut will attach much faster than a healed over one. I find they attach very quick, a couple days at most.

These smaller pieces fell off the larger coral, they have been rubberbanded for about one week now... should I try to take off the band?
