Identify this rock

I obtained a salt setup from a friend and I am converting it to fresh. With the setup are these big pieces of porous white rocks. All the rocks are now dry so if anything ever lived in them I am sure it is all gone. I just want to know what it is or was and what it can be used for so I can get rid of it.
Below is a picture of a few of the pieces.

Definetly looks like old LR if your tank is new with no inhabitants just put it in wait for the cycle and seed it with LR. Granted that it is clean and has no chemicals or anything on it.

If they came out of a saltwater tank then i wouldn't put them in a freshwater tank. They will still have salt in the holes and in the rocks. When i dried mine out there were a bunch of leftover salt when dried up.

I'm not planning on using it. Just trying to figure out what it is and get rid of it. Thanks for the input though.
