Just set up my tank and this popped out of my live rock. This a worm?

Aptasia! Get rid of it ASAP it’ll take over your tank. Peppermint shrimp sometimes eat them. You can get aptasia X which will kill them

Ok thanks! I’ll get rid of it before I put any fish in the tank. I’ll leave it until that. Gives my little boy something to look at lol

you should really get rid of it it will take over your tank in days or weeks,.

They multiply really quickly. Id jam a pinch of salt mix in its face asap.

I used a turkey baster with hot water and would squirt it on it.

salt mix? Hot water will kill it?

It did mine. Shriveled them up.

I have been seeing quite a few threads on aiptasia now. Is it a common occurence in reef tanks? And are there any particular situations they develop in? Just trying to take precautions if I can

I think they are just hitchhikers in liverock.
