I was looking in my tank and i saw these little tiny (like 1mm at the longest) feathery white things. They arnt those little hard white tube worms (that i forget the name of) that i also have. They do retract when they are disturbed. Im leaning twords some type of hydroid, but im really not sure. There too small for a pic so i drew a pic. They seem to be growing in groups of 50-100ish (but there not connected by any tissue or anything.). The whole stalk moves with the current also. Any ideas are appreciated,
thanks, hunt

They have most likely bloomed because there's an abundance of small food items in the tank, so you might consider that. We usually don't do anything if they show up, as they tend to wax and wane. Some peeps kill them with hydrogen 3% peroxide (H2O2)...just take a syringe and squirt a little on them. The hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water and oxygen. Do a test first, of course before going nuts, and just to be safe just kill a patch of them at a time.
