I would never randomly turn on the lights in a tank, that is definitely not a good plan. It probably had a really weird blotchy coloration and perhaps freaked out or was just sluggish?
Can you tell us more about the set up of your tank and specific water parameters?

well my tank is a 125 gallon been up almost 2 months, all the params are at 0 i also have a 45 gallon refugium, with live rock as the filter,. and macro as the middle of the fuge!!!
my fox face was fine this morning i think it was scard last night when i turned the halide on
man i moved everything in the tankALL the rock looked under every individual piece, and there is no sign of the clown trigger!!!
what could of happened???
i mean i looked for over 2 hours
inside and out, and raised every piece out of the water individually
i dont understand!!!
there is no other fish in the tank besides the fox face
would the fox face eat him????

No, but lots of worms and such will. Triggers are also designed to basically wedge themselves into rocks.
I would strongly considered setting up a QT tank. The survival rates of those small clowns is poor, and it avoids both introducing disease and stress from other problems.

thanks i do plan on setting up a qt tank eventually
i would really like to find my trigger cause it is rerally ruining my week knowing that he is lost!!!
im thinking of just buying another 1 this weekend or in a couple of weeks if he decides not to come out in the next few days besides if hes not eating hes gotta die soon any way!!!
i dont think there is enough worms and stuff in my tank yet to eat my trigger that fast
i may also get a cleaner shrimp for the tank cause look at the pic i just found on --

can u believe that
looks to be a pretty big clown, but yes i know the eventual out come but that will help with parasites in the begining

Be prepared that it might be eaten. I've seen that happen.
But I do hope that you have taken previous advice to heart. Your tank is too small for a clown trigger long term, and there is a real risk that it will kill any other fish.
You REALLY need to consider a QT. A cleaner WILL NOT prevent a major issue with ick.
