if I remove my bioballs...

I have been thinking of removing my bioballs out of my wet/dry for some time now. I have a dsb and 125 lbs. of lr, so I am not worried about the filtration, but I am worried about the noise. I have my tank in my bedroom, a decision that I sort of regret, so I do not want to hear the sound of water crashing into the sump at all hours. Any ideas on how I could curb this? What did you guys do? Thanks.

put some live rock in its place, this will help with splashing.

I thought about that, but wouldn't I get the same problems and need to maintain as I would the bioballs? I brought this up a few months ago, but everyone told me it was a lame idea. What are your feelings?

Sheet of acrylic angled so that when the water hits it, it will flow down on an angle, easily cleaned if necessary. Less splash.
Extend your drain pipe so that it is at or submerged in the water line in your sump.
Just an idea or two
