ok so i have tried writting this twice so it being midnight and me trying to get this out fast so it can simmer over night im just going to give the unedited cliff notes lolz.
im getting a purple birds nest coral, whish i know nothing about. i have all light levels available from super intense to a fine glow. i want to know just about everything i can about this because the only frags i really know about are my beloved mushroom collection. i can also adjust for any water flow easily im getting this for a freind whos tank i maintain for christmas so i have time if this turns out to be a crappy frag and i should wait. i lif 45 mins away from a huge frag farm in wisconsin that has walk in for frag choice but i dont want to pay for the gas if i can avoid it. so any info i can get will be great.

You shouldn't be feeding live fish.
A pink birdsnest is a relatively hardy SPS coral that grows like crazy. You'll have to have very clean water, Nitrate and phosphate as near zero ppm as possible, medium to heavy flow rate and intense lighting, preferably with metal halides or T5HOs. I'm also assuming (without experience) that they would do well under a DIY LED CREE fixture. Calcium should remain constant, between 440ppm and 480ppm, and alkalinity should remain constant at 8-10dKh. Temp should stay constant, between 74 and 78F. pH should not fluctuate much and stay at around 8.2.
A pic would still be nice.

pink, purple, blue, green,... birdsnests and SPS in general need the water parameters I listed above. In short:
Nitrate: 0ppm
Phosphate: 0ppm
pH: 8.2 constant
Temp: 78F constant
Salinity: 1.026 constant
Calcium: 460-480ppm
Alkalinity: 8-10dKh
Flow: Medium to heavy
Clean water, stable and mature tank, intense lighting, strong flow... basically.

I've actually found the purple birdsnest to be a little easier to care for, just keep it in higher flow and moderate high-high lighting. I have an ORA Birds of Paradise that I have put through some serious abuse and that thing won't die, but the green and pink on each side of it just withered away.

You edited your original post before you posted last. So, I don't know what your original post said and can't quote directly from it, to make me say that.
