OK, I now understand sharks need a bigger tank, and I have arranged for the pet store to get it. I wanted to get an angular, and i read numerous posts saying it was ok to keep an angular in a 10 gallon tank.

you keep calling what you want an angular. Do you mean angler or anglerfish?:notsure: If you mean angler, I would try at least a 30. I know they don't move much, but even little fish need alot of room. Think about it this way. How would you like to spend your entire life in the living room without ever leaving?:D

Sorry my Bad, I meant Angler
but yah their are some threads that say you can keep anglers in a 10 gallon tank, like a small one.

Well, all the "small" ones turn into big ones. The point is, buy a fish you can house its entire life, rather than scrambling to find a home when it gets too big. That goes for trading it to the pet store too. Its all part of being a responsible aquariast.
P.S.- I hope you dont think I was being a jerk about the shark, I was just thinking about what was best for the animal. IME with them over the years Ive seen everything. Mostly, the situations end with a dead shark. I have too much respect for them to keep my big mouth shut.:D

anglerfish really dont do too much pretty much sit around in 1 spot waiting on a potiental prey to swallow. They can swallow fish as long as there body so watch what you put in the tank. They do move around at night though.

30g minimum then u can do a pair.. tey can be active at night, there bio-load is great and they need a constant food supply as far as I know.. u can get them on silversides u just have to get a feeding prod and give them a wiggle in front of their face but be carefull there attack at the food is liek 1/32 of a second.. quite fast and it u are not holding onto yrou feeding prod u can loose it..
dont bother with a 10g salty unless u are doing a nano

id be more concerned about water volumn for toxicity and cleanliness than i would about it for his comfort.

No,
It has more to do with keeping the quality of water right. To try to keep a fish like that in a 10 gallon tank would almost seem impossible if not cruel. You could live in a closet under the right care but is it right? The water would need constant care. I would do it right and get a 30 gallon minimum.

anglers arent that hard to take care of if they're alone, dump in a feeder every day or so and they'll eat it if they come close enough, my angler eats feeders daily, and it just swallows them whole..it also eats ghost shrimp that i hardly ever buy :happyfish

Why are you asking this forum for advise when you have already decided to put one in too small of a tank, and seem to know all about them?
:notsure:
