AHHHH...I am having heat issues...The room my tanks are in is usually hotter or cooler than the rest of the house ...cooler is no issue...HOTTER IS...I have central air that I just put on...this room runs a good 5-6 degrees different
OK...My 225g got up to 84 29g up to 84 ...WORST PART...horse tank 81...I have been adding ice to cool it slowly, but does not seem to be working

ANYWAY if I put the a/c on 65 the rest of the house will freeze...and I can not afford 3 chillers...soooo tomorrow I am going to buy a small 110 window unit...I figure if I can keep this room at 75...I should be okay
Wish me luck...it's only MAY 1

close the vents in the other room that is what i do.
You don't have to shut them all the way just restrict the flow of the ac in each room so the room that you have open "the Fish room" will be coooolder.
just my .02

Well I have 3 rooms not in use, and the vents closed in them...the other rooms are the family room (husband is in), my bedroom, sons bedroom, and kitchen...I don't see how I could close those

Window unit is a good idea. How about some small muffin fans blowing across the water surface. You would get more evaporation that way though. Window unit is probably the best bet.

I have small fans everywhere...3 on big tank, one on 29g, and one on 54...I also have 2 fans pointing towards 54g (my main concern at this point) and a 54" ceiling fan....YUP I get lots of evap...OHHHH I also have a fan under 225 cabinet by sump...
I am 100% buying the window unit tomorrow...we will go to p a r i s Texas tomorrow (after husband turkey hunts in the a.m.
)...need to go to home depot to get eggcrate for 54g...taking glass off...I know that will help too...I have the front lid open and the back piece off now.

He didn't mean close ALL the vents in those other rooms, just close off some. You should have more than one vent in each of those rooms, so just shut off one vent in each to start with, and see what that does to the temp in the fish room.

Put a fan in one of the cool rooms to blow the air towards this warmer room.

I'm doing all that...there is ONE vent in every room except there are 2 in the kitchen...I have the vents closed in the 3 rooms that are not used
I have a fan setting on the half wall that leads from the "cool" section of the house to this room...it helps some, but with all the tanks..
..too mush heat going on I guess.....

Personally I would try to pump some of that heat out of the house. A window unit of course would do the job, but if you could pipe at least one of the fans to outside so it draws the heat off the tank it would be more efficient for you. Pulling the air out of a canopy would be best. Your running the fans anyways so it wont cost you more to run. It would be a cheaper solution also as you would just need some flex duct and a dryer vent for outside. Of course hiding the duct may be an issue. But I bet as soon as your hubby bags his Tom, he'd be glad to help out.
You do need to run it outside though because pumping it into the attic May cause condensation in there.

None of the tanks have canopies...I have the 225g, a 54g, a 29g SW, and a 16gfw all in one room...I think I'm doomed....since the a/c has been on room temp has been dropping and tank temps slowly dropping....I think when we built this room...the A/C people screwed up the duct work

A bathroom exhaust fan installed in that room and a temperature controller like used for roof exhaust fans would also do the job. About 75 bucks or so....

I have never heard of only one vent in a room, but if that's all there is, then whatsupdoc is correct, don't restrict the system. Sounds like it's "chiller" time...

WELL....We are going to Home Depot tomorrow, so I will look into those options...I think A small 110 will work though...they are about $99 at Walmart
The room is an add on..well 3 rooms were...the section I am in is like 10 X 14, the nwe have a half bath, laundry room and a back bedroom (oh excuse me...HUNTING ROOM
)
MY fish room
.....I really think the a/c people messed up

I'll probably get the 110 a/c....much cheaper then 3 chillers

Do you know how much 3 chillers would cost...I could another central air unit for that much

That's why I am thinking small window unit....

If you remove all those cats from the house, there would be less breathing, friction, etc...thus cooler temps

Plus it would make more room for what really matters, like that Turkey mount that your husband is going to have....
