i have been lurking for a while and want to sart a5g drawf tank i have a 5g tank and nothing more and am just looking 4 a general idea on the direction i should take or a complet walk through would b really helpful but any help is appreciated thanks

i would get a sponge filter of some sort. then i would get lots of fake plants and scatter them in the tank. get some sand, not sharp/tough sand tho. get a bit of rock, if it's live then bleach it and kill it all. let the tank cycle for at the least 4 months since its a dwarf tank. setup a brine shrimp hatchery.

Hey, why 4 months of cycle? To build up beneficial bacteria or whatever as a biofilter? Is that because you're starting with nothing live at all? I've read that you can use a little piece of cocktail shrimp to be the organic material to speed up your cycling. Just put it in the new 'nothing live' tank, and wait out the cycle as normal.

with horses you want to wait even longer. as a pony tank you don't need pods wich is why only maby 4 months instead of like 6.
