In Wall 125 Gallon set-up

I am currently running a 55 gallon corner saltwater reef tank and just started to finish my basement. I got my hands on (2) 125 gallon tank that I am going to have in a wall. I am actually going to build the wall. One will be the display tank and the other will be the sump and I am going to have a 50 gallon refuge tank as well. I have enough room behind the tank to have a "wet room". What I am looking for is any advise or tips I should know before I start this project. I would also like to know what type of equipment to purchase ie skimmer, pumps, lights etc..
Your input would be much appreciated.

Sweet. I wouldn't use the second 125 as a sump, Make into something different then the other tank. Like one reef and the other Fowler. On the equipment their are many different thoughts on the right ones. I would stick with a 50 gal and make it a sump/fuge.

i agree. or you could plumb the two 125's to the 50 gallon sump.
The only real trick is getting the waterflow to balance out.
Your over all total volume would be 300 gallons!
or just keep an eye out on Craigs list for another 50 gallon tank, no need to make a 125 a sump...unless you wanted to make it into a large fuge w/frag racks ect.
at any rate. Grats on the new project. will be fun to tag along with you and see how it goes.

so I dont need to have such a big tank as a sump? A 50 gallon would work fine ?
most people would tell you %20-%25 of the systems volume should be a sump. 50 gal is plenty for a 200-250 gallon system.
in a sump that size you could easily fit 50bls or so of LR and a ton of chaeto, or evin a scrubber. all depends on what you want. im using a 55 gal for my 125build. I plan to have a skimmer,LR, chaeto, and a scrubber in mine.
