I have my welso on a nice ledge in my tank, and on the corner of the ledge is one small polyp of xenia. Ive spaced the two far enough apart so that they cant touch but the welso keeps scooting himself over the the edge and letting the xenia rub on him. Ive let it go for a few days and theyre doesnt seem to be any damaging results to either of the corals (the welso being the one im concerned with) so is there any reason i shouldnt let the two be together?

Ah, many a hobbyist remembers the "one small polyp of xenia" days...
In a tank where this coral does well, it can overwhelm things, and may well cause a problem. So if you really value the welso. then I would be wary of having anything that is highly "aggressive" in growth nearby or possibly even in the tank (depending on size and aspirations).
Though I appreciate the fact that a local hobbyist gave me some Anthelia, I am now almost completely overwhelmed, and have a dilemna. I hate to "pass it on" in fragging...and I hate to throw it out. so I have an anthelia tank for the most part.
That being said you may have one of those tanks were for whatever reason you just absolutely have no luck with Xenia.
