I was thinking of making an indoor pond out of sinderblocks and thick rubber pond tarp.It wouldn't have any glass sides to look at,but it would be more like a touch pool.Like the ones at your local aquarium .Could this work?If so dose anyone have plans for something like this? help.......SALTWATER NOT FRESHWATER SORRY...

I have an outdoor KOI pond that I built a year ago out of the liner material. There are several books out there with information on liners, filtration, and structure design. I bought several books from home depot. The only thing that I would be concerned about would be the effects of the salt on the liner. I don't see why this could not be done. For the cost though I think you would be better of to buy a tank. At least that way you can really view your fish better. Also lighting would be tough to do.

hey what about one of those pre-fab pond things in the garden section of like home depot that are molded plastic???? then you could get like the large plastic rocks to put around it to make it more presentable, plus the rocks being plastic, you would be able to make them fit seamless and cut where youre pond would go. also you could hide all of the filtration inside the plastic rocks and not even see it.........that would be way cool, not even in a corner, im talkin bout right smack dab in the middle of like a living room.......like a coffe table, only different........ :D

Newbie,
Here is a link to a DIY indoor pond plan. http://www.aquariacentral.com/diy/pond.shtml
The plan seems pretty good. I've been thinking about trying it for about the last year. (the wife won't go for it). I think if you follow the plans and make an addition to the side for the kind of filtration you'll need it might work. Good Luck.
