what is a good way in lowering nitrates besides doing water changes? my trates are hanging at about 60. are there any additives you can add? i do not have a sump, i have a cannister filter. any suggestions? i would love the trates to be at around 10.

remove your cc and go with a DSB. also a refugium with plants that eat nitrates is another option. I used the LS method and my nitrates are significantly reduced

How long are your lights on, give them a little more time on it will help alge grow, and reduce Nitrate's also how much live rock do you have, more will help, feed your fish less, but feed them more time a day. hope this helps, keep up with a 10-20% water change a week.
