+1 i love my octopus. i think it's got great bang for the buck! I run the 150 not the 200, but i love it.

well they were about $200 new so it depends on how old and beat up. the NW-200 has been out for a LONG time and there are at least 4 version. Original with large propellered ocean runner cloned pump, 2nd gen (looks just like the 1rst) with revamped (OTP-3000 pump. smaller internals and plumbing passages), the funnel neck NW-200, Funnel neck NW-200 with pinwheel. hell I probably left out an update somewhere in there between 1rst and 3rd revamp.
Its believed every successive model has gotten more restrictive (read downgraded) so old is not a bad thing but you dont want to pay $140 for a skimmer that cost $200 4yrs ago.

You got a fair deal. It has the gate valve mod( which is about $40). That is the older version with the OTP 3000 pump. To get the best performance out of it, you will want to do the mesh mod, if is hasn't already been done. Google nw 200 mesh mod, and you will find instructions on how to do it.
