Information - Clean Up crew

I just wanted to let this message board know that I have only been a meember about a week and have already learned so much. I have never had a clean up crew in my tank before. I just finished cycling a 100 gal tank and started getting that browm alge; well I went out and purchased 8 turbo snails and a couple of crabs and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!!! I was bushing the alge off my rocks everyday, but now the snails keep it clean. Thanks again!

Hi there, another good cleaner is the emerald crabs, when we put our first 2 in they went to town, they are really neat to watch and they do a great job..just my opinion.....LOL Lisa

Is this cleanup crew just for the newly cycled tank? Are they for a FO tank? They sound great and I would love to get some!

they are for my tank that was just cycled, but it seems that most of the members of this board have them and they work great. You have Got to love Mother Nature.......

I'm impressed that 8 snails and a couple crabs are keeping your 100g tank clean. Must have good water quality.
My 46g tank has around 20 snails, 20 red leg crabs, 15 blue legs, and 2 emeralds. They just barely keep the tank clean. It *is* spotless, though. Worthy investment!
