I just got the 25w lifegard uv sterilizer and need some advice on the installation. i have a 125 gallon long tank with a wet/dry and a berlin skimmer. i was going to install it by a tee off of my return. the in & out of the sterilizer has slip fittings. do i need to "glue" pvc to this to make the connections? if i do, should i glue hose barb fittings to it instead of hard pipe (i currently have tubing from the return of the pump). any advice is appreciated. thanks.

I "T" IS FINE BUT A STERLIZER SHOULD ONLY TURN YOUR TANK OVER 1 TO 2 TIMES PER HOUR. I THINK YOUR WET DRY IS DOING MORE THAN THAT ISNT IT? IF NOT THEN OK.. U DONT WANT THE WATER RUNNING THROUGH THE UV TOO QUICK IT WONT KILL THE ORGASMS..AND U DONT WANT IT RUNNING THROUGH TOO SLOW I FORGET WHY BUT THERE WERE A FEW GOOD REASONS.. I KNOW MY FRIEND T HIS OFF IN HIS 100 GALLON AND HE HAD ALOT OF PARAISTES. HE WAS TURNING HIS TANK OVER 5 X PER HOUR. HE INSTALLED A SEPERATE TINY RIO WATER PUMP AND HES BEEN CLEAN EVER SINCE..

If i were to "t" off the return i would put a ball valve on it. i dont have too much room in my sump 'cause of the mag 7 in there for the protein skimmer. i still have a qestion about the actual connections (glue a hose barb or hard pipe etc.)

On my 3 tanks I have the pump attached to the eco-system in my basement. The pipe feeds up through the floor into my cabinet. My UV steralizers are in the cabinet, then to my tanks. In the cabinet, I go from PVC (from the pump) to clear plastic tubing. The tubing attaches to the UV. On the other end of the UV, clear plastic goes back to PVC and then into the tank.
