installing a RO/DI unit

I just received my RO/DI unit and i don't even know where to start on installing this bad boy. It comes with instructions but they are way over my head. Do i need to call a plumber or somebody? I bought an Aqua Engineering & Equipment model. Its a 5-stage unit. I know nothing about putting together a RO/DI unit and even less about plumbing. Any help would be appreciated though i know it would be tough for somebody to help me without actually being here.

I'm having the same problem. I bought a Kent Marine R.O./D.I. system and I have to say that their instructions suck. I have no idea on how to hook it up.

Let us know how you like the unit and whether it was worth getting. I've been thinking of getting an RO myself. I haven't found one that says it removes phosphates [which is in my local tap water].

I have installed many units and they are not that bad to hook up... there is a basic hook up that hooks up to the supply source (the faucet) and a dripline to put into your sump or basin to catch the water...... I also hooked up a prefilter (you can get for under $30) before the inlet to the R/O unit....

Have you done a "before" and "after" water test to see if what went into the RO system, didn't come out?
I was wondering how effective they are with removing nitrates and phosphates.
[Wouldn't it be nice if someone invented a water system that could cleanse the water, as well as mix up the salt?? LOL]
