Instant Ocean salt

I remember hearing somewhere that Instant Ocean is not that good. Why is this?

I don't know I use it and I get a good PH and 450 calcium no i'll effects so far. It seems to disolve fairly well too. But Its the only thing I've used so I don't have anything to compare it against.

my experiences with Instant Ocean are good. i tried a different type salt called Reef Crystals. it's from Instant Ocean, just a throw off name to make it cheaper. it's what i was told from a guy at my LFS. Reef Crystals is working for me just as well....

i use IO and reef crystals also like them both. the -- has a few more elements for reef set ups but both are very good

I use it and I have never had a problem.

I have used both IO and Reef Crystals as well, in that order, both in my 100-gal reef. Both are good salts, but if you are going reef, I would suggest using the --. There was a slight difference in how my livestock looked after switching to the --, not much, but anything that helps is welcome in my tank.
