Interesting cyano issue...

Well, I had cyano and apparently I don't anymore? I moved 1200 miles 2 months ago and brought the 75 with me minus inhabitants, but I did bring the rock and sand. I get it setup and within 2 days I could see the new red swag carpet forming on the sand. So I scooped it out. The next morning more swag carpet, and now it's on the rocks. So yet again I'm scooping it out. So day 5 HOLY CYANO BATMAN!!! I look in and the sand is covered, along with the rocks and some corals. I'm testing for phosphates and they are coming up zilch. So obviously the cyano is holding onto it so the test can't pick it up. A month goes by, and I have now lost control of my tank. I was getting extremely angry, and so with great regret at the time I nuked it with chemi-clean. I did 5 scoops for a 75 gallon, so around 60% of the dose. The next morning it's pretty much gone, YAY! Well third day it's back, ok....that doesn't make sense. I mean I knew the anti-biotic was short term thing, but I didn't realize people meant 48 hours. Which by the way water changes, carbon, less feeding did absolutely nothing. Coming up on 2 months and it is EVERYWHERE. I can't see the majority of the sand bed, and the rocks are becoming red. I also believe the high flow trick is a myth, I had cyano growing on a powerhead about 2 inches from my return line blowing in, it was still on the powerhead and seemed to be loving the weather! My last ditch effort was 3 days lights out, I turned them back on 3 days later and the tank was beautiful! On the second day it was back... So 3 months is approaching and I can't believe I hadn't thought of this before DOH, I tested the LFS water I was getting haha bingooooo, phosphates at like .5 or greater. I'm ecstatic, I'm not an idiot, well kinda, I'm an idiot for waiting this long to test the water going in. I go to the LFS and tell them their phosphates are high in their water. Uhh no it isn't, is the response, I assumed it was gonna go something like that, so I asked them if they wanted to test it, ohhh uhhh we don't have any kits. Oh well that's ok, I brought my own, tool. I tested and yet again .5. So I left there feeling empowered, yet another tank saved thanks too...well I digress...I came home started researching RO/DI units. I was gonna go with airwaterice, then I decided to go with Bulk Reef Supply, I did the create your own thing, made a 5 stage with all the useful accessories. This is where it get's interesting. I swear the second I fork out the money to buy my own I look over and the cyano is buying tickets to leave. It just began to disappear, I've changed nothing, well I think, apparently I changed something. I'm still using their water so that can't be it, anyway I'm not sure, other than Murphy's Law hard at work.
