Interesting observation!

I have had my clown fish for over three year old now and over the last month of changing my fish only to a reef tank with lr and ls. I have notice a difference in my clowns' color. They have always been a bright orange but over the last month they have gotten darker on the upper half of their body. Does this mean their getting closer to matting or are they getting darker since the tank has darker colors in it now?

The first pic is from two months ago and the second one is from tonight

Have they just started living in an anemone? I've heard sometimes they will darken once an anemone hosts them.

Heard that one before. Yeah i have a bta but they have not host it since they are tanked raised. Thats why i'm wondering why they are just turning blackish on the upper half of their bobies without hosting.
