Some kinds of coral (shrooms, xenia, etc.) can overrun your tank and you'll end up having to tear down. If you buy an invasive coral frag it often to keep it under control. (great way to make some extra $$$) i know there are some people on here who have pics showing what these corals can do.

If you get a coral that you know will be invasive, I recommend keeping them on the flattest rock possible. Makes for individual polyp/stalk fragging very easy!!
For xenia, if you cut at the bottom of the stalk, itll regrow from leftover tissue. The only successful way Ive seen is breaking up the rock.

Easy problem to solve, just get you a few aggresive corals with powerfull stinging and place them throughout the tank. That will keep the fast spreaders in check.

you have to cut them off at the base, and then kalkwasser the leftovers.
stinging corals don't work. i've tried hydnophora, hammers, torches. they just grow around them.

I have heard putting lots of tiny live rock rubble around the base of xenia, then when it starts to grow onto the rubble just take the rubble out and put some more down.
I stay away from xenia. My wife did get me a pretty mushroom rock a month ago though, and it is dropping babies like crazy and are growing up a rock.

Just let em drop the legs and frag them. I saw a friggen kenya tree for 70 bucks at B&B. I'm going to see if he wants to start buying mine, if he is going to sell em at that price.
