Invert Challenges

I have a 36 gallon tank that has been running for about 8 months and I have successfully kept a mix of swimming fish alive (clownish, royal gramma, green warpaint clown goby and bangai cardinal). But other than hermit crabs, I have had no success with invertebrates. Snails, cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp and a royal urchin have all died within 2-12 days of being added to the tank. Here my tank parameters (these were tested just before a regular bi-weekly water change):

Ammonia -- 0ppm
Nitrate -- 30ppm
Nitrite -- 0ppm
pH -- 8.0
Temperature -- 77F
Salinity -- 1.025
Calcium -- 380 mg/L
Phosphate -- between 0-0.1mg/L
Alkalinity -- 10.5 dKH (3.75 Mep/L)

Any insights or ideas would be great! I have about a dozen hermit crabs in the tank (36 gallons) but I would love to add some invert variety.
