The Monster does not include brittle star. But to answer your question, yes they scavenge for food but they also enjoy an occasional piece of shrimp meat. Why too many hermits? I suggest you choose the ones with more variety. Sally lightfoot is very amusing to watch and she's a voracious hair algae eater.
