Hi--- As you all know (thoes who care) I have a 94 gal corner tank, with 40 lbs lr and 60 lbs LS. I have no intention of it ever being a reef tank, however I would like to add some invertebrates. I always thought inverts were a no-no in a non reef tank?? I will never add copper to this tank !!! Is it possible??

Yes, and common. As long as your not stocked with puffers, triggers, etc. or any other aggressive fish thats main diet in the wild is inverts it would be fine. I dont have full blown reef, LR, LS,feather dusters, 25 scarlet hermits, 2 cleaner shrimp, 4 peppermint shrimp, sally lightfoot, 2 emerald crabs, 20 snails, just gotta make sure your not stocking with inverts snacking fish..

OHHH almost forgot.... I have a baby (less than a foot long and reallllllly skinny snowflake eel. Can I still do it???

Well, changes things a little. I have seen and heard of people successfully keeping inverts wiht a snowflake but , IMO, its a time bomb. Not a matter of if but when. I think snails and large hermits would be a better shot than cleaner shrimps and such, like I say its been done but tick...tick...tick...., I would try some cheaper inverts at first but dont be surprised if things start disappearing. gl!

i agree with saltwater on this one. probably gonna end up with some eaten inverts and a happy eel. but then again ive never had one, just going by what ive read.

I added a Snowflake eel to my 180 tank once. As soon as he was comfortable in the tank there went my crabs. Only thing that saved the last of them was the eel found a way out of the tank and died. I won't do that again!

I have had a snowflake for 6 monthes in our reef and he has never ate anything that wasnt givin to him, many crabs, snails, shrimp, and he is about 15 in long, maybee we are just lucky, but he is one of the fav of the reef. many corals and inverts...my 2 cents

Dr. Jay,
did you ever watch the movie "The little shop of horrors" about a flower from whatever
screaming every day: Feed me! FEED ME!!!
I have in my 240 gal a Golden Eel from Great Reef for about year, now about 12~13 inches,
and tons of inverts around him. He doesn't touch anything on full belly. If I work late and feed them late he helps himself with some snail. I don't think your eel will be much different in the future.
By the way, what was the name of the boy taking care of that bloody flower?
