Iodine dip

What exactly does this mean ? and how is it done ? mainly for corals ? If corals are fine and have been in DT for over a year but have only been temp acclimated do they need to be "iodine dipped" ?

Dipping corals is a practice that is done for newly acquired corals to get rid of any hitchikers that may be in the corals. It is a good practice to get into, especially if you are unfamiliar with the store or online vendor you acquired the coral from. I use a product by Seachem called Reef Dip. It is a concentrated iodine. Follow directions very carefully, and you will be pleased with the results.

If you want to save some money you can use povidone iodine 10% solution you can get it at any drug store put enough of it in the water you are using to dip so it looks like strong tea and dip for about 3 to 5 min you will see the little critters coming out and dieing
