Iodine Dip???

Can you iodine dip a clam??? Our is acting wierd and my husband thinks that a dip would do take care of it, but we weren't for sure. We have dipped many of our other corals and stuff, but we were not for sure on this one. Please Help!

To disinfect. It keeps you from introducing bad guys to your corals/fish. Iodine.
