I use Kent products, and I always add these to my reef..
They are among some of the essential elements that a healthy and bright reef need to survive..
I started out at half of what the instructions are on the bottle, and brought up the quantity slowly,(but not too slowly) to what the directions say..

I add both on a regualar basis. Iodine and magnesium are very important in reefs and so are calcium and strontium. I add Kent Ca daily and Kent strontium/molymbium sp? about every five days. Be careful when adding Iodine because it is possible to overdose. HTH

I do the same as BlondeNaso, but drip kalk for Ca instead. Oh, I also had Kent's coral vite once a week (shotgun blast of trace elements).
