I recently started to add iodine to my tank, Ive noticed my fish are dying a slow death, they stop eating and breath funny, It only happens to 1 fish at a time,( whats bizarre is that it started at the small fish and working its way up )Just wondering if the iodine is burning their gills,I obviously stopped using it. anyone else had the same problem.Any input on iodine would be greatly appreceiated

Unless you are adding mass quantities on a regular basis, I doubt if its the iodine that is killing the fish. They would all die if this were the case and not just one at a time. It makes me think that it is something else that is killing the small fish first. Probably something like Ammonia where the small fish can't handle the levels and they are dying. Since your next fish is larger it just appears that they are dying in order of size whereas they are probably just dying. What are your numbers?

Iodine is toxic at levels above normal seawater.
Dosing it without a test kit is not the best thing to do ....
Some feel it's necessary to add, I do not.
I would get a test kit if you plan to dose iodine. Test your water and if it's too high, start water changes to bring it down.
Overdose of iodine will kill fish and other marine creatures.
It should be used with caution.
