Ipod experts

I have a 30 gig ipod and when i bought it i brought it to my neighbors house to have him look at it he plugged it in and put 1600 songs on it, now when i want to put my songs on it, it comes up that there is another library, is there a way that i can transfer all the songs from my ipod to my library without having him put the 1600 songs to a disc then adding them to my library? the message comes up "transfer and sync" in which eraces all the songs.

i think you should be able to copy and paste them in to a folder on the hd and then import them to your library

agreed, open the library with his songs and click and drag to whole list to a seperate My Computer screen. Then open you library and drag and click his songs under yours. It should work but depends what format he saved his songs in

yah, make sure you have your disk enabled on your ipod and manually manage it. this way you are using your ipod as the hard drive instead of your computer
i did this and i have my ipod linked to three different libraries

if you put the songs on your ipod in .mp3 format, not m4a, you can put them on and off your ipod really easily.
go to "my computer"
click on your ipod drive
go to "tools"- "folder options"- "view"-
click on "show hidden files and folders"
click ok
now you should see a folder called "ipod control"
click on it then click on "music"
there should be some folders such f00, f01, f02, etc.
just copy/paste or click n drag.
nice lil secret that apple doesnt want you to know about.

OK, still having problems....

this is what i have
"ipod access for windows"
when i plug in my ipod it will pull up everything that is on my ipod, but i want to transfer everything from that to my itunes library, what is the easyist way to do that?? this is becoming very frusterating since i'm computer ileterate.i think i've tried everything but it keeps asking me to erace and sync.
please help...
