Hi everyone i have a 37 cube tank that i setup for a seahorse tank. My fish store is awesome and everything they have told me since i started they have been correct on. They aren't those kind of people just try to take your money and will give you whatever you want. Anyways they told me that i can get seahorses after my month has been setup for about a month. I have 25 lbs. of live rock but its fully cured because my fish store has a huge bin that they just keep live rock in. Its been cured for about 2 years. I also have 30 lbs. of live sand. Now is it to early to add horses after a month on a new tank with cured live rock? (Already checked all levels and they are all perfect)

YIKES!!!!! One month!!! Heck no. The reason you wait for at least 4 months is to let the pod population grow. Pods are a favorite treat of horses. And also a beneficial addition to their diet.
Please do not rush into your horse tank. I know it's tempting, but haste is your enemy with seahorses. The older you tank the better. Please check out my thread:

Have you choosen your species? Like to know more about you tank set up too

37 gal is a nice size tank. (see mine in the marcros thread). I agree, let you tank mature, and stablize. let you pods grow. you can add your snails, and any macros you want. let you pods grow.

im sure you already no, but just in case, the cycle has to be done before anything can go in, im sorry if already know this, i hate it when people act like i dont know anything, but on the seahorse i take all the advice i can get. so if im stating the obvious i sorry

Seahorses is something that im new at and im just trying to take all the advice i can. Its just confusing sometimes because people say different stuff all the time and you don't know who to believe.

you need to let you tank build up enough good bacteria. Lets face it horses are messy. you fill thier dishes with lots of mysis, then let them eat until thier full. it blowes around and gets under rocks. you need a good cleanup crew to handle the extra food.

thats what i do then when it looks like they are done 20 min or so i turn them back on so it will float around then the pipefish gets it

rykna took the words out of my mouth. 4 months at the least, and thats only if you used a really smart cycle and got pods growing early like my lfs taught me.

Anything else in the tank??
Do you plan to purchase any tank mates?
Do you have a pic of your tank? It would be very helpful to see your current set up.
What types of meds do you have?
What foods do you plan to feed?

Do have a medicine "cabinet" ready. That was my #1 mistake. If I had been prepared, I could have treated Romeo asap, and might have prevented loosing him. When horses do get sick, you have a 24 hour window, 36 hours at most, to get them into a QT and treat them. Once ill seahorse decline rapidly, and a missed meal due to illness 95%=dead horse.
