Sounds like a great amount for the tank, the pods will love the LR. Only one problem with LR and LS in seahorse tanks. They introduce all sorts of unwanted pests that can be fatal to seahorses. The aiptasia is the #1 on my list(an out break consumed 90% of my ponies
). With careful cleaning and cycling(Lisa cycled her tank for 6 months) you can weed out most of these little pests. LR and LS will help with your "clean up crew"(pods ect.), but water quality and salinity levels, from my experiences tend to go bad much faster. When the salinity goies up it opens a breeding ground for all sorts of nasty parasites. The water quality can be maintained by cycling and making sure you have a mature clean up crew. Both of these I failed to do with my 90. I was treating my seahorse tank like a reef tank. A reef tank has tons more options when it comes to clean up crews. The poor water quality lead to giant algae blooms, which hindered the water quality even more. I thought that the algae was a positive thing because pods love and flourish with in the algae bloom. The algae bloom also creates a perfect breed ground for unwanted parasites.
Lisa has succesfully kept both LR and LS and many types of corals in her horse tank; this success is due to her devotion to water changes IMHO.
Because of my past experiences, I have killed all of my LR and LS, and do not anticipate adding any more living critters, except pods and clean up crew.
As for having enough room; and 24" high tank looses height as you add your LS bed. Your horses will let you know when to upgrade.
