Tomorrow is 4 full weeks that I left my tank fallow because the fish got ich.
Can I put them back tomorrow, or should I wait a week or two more?

At this point it is a risk. Ich may be gone or it may not be. I would wait two more weeks if it were me. Out of curiosity, how did you treat your fish? Four weeks is almost the bare minimum for treatment.

I dont know if this will help, but Coral-vital is great for getting rid of ich. You put 3x the label dosing every day. When I get new fish, I do that x 1 week and have been ich free. I forgot when I got a, what else? -hippo tang and yikes did I have ich. I used the Coral-vital and it took a while (3 weeks or so, but it cured the problem. I do believe using it when you get a new addition to the tank, it works great and then only need 7 days

I'd wait longer..... I waited 5 wks last time and within a week of adding fish the ich came back and it was stronger then ever.
My tank is fish free and I think this time I am going to wait a minimum of 6 wks and might just hold out for a full 8wks before putting any fish back in there.
Ich sucks

Hey sep...
I treated them with cupramine for 2 weeks like the bottle and the lfs told me. All ich is off them...why should I re-treat or something?

Copper treatment is three weeks. Definitely take the extra time to monitor your fish as well as keeping the any remaining ich in the display free from a host.

I wanted to check this out since you feel it cured the Ich you have in your tank. This Marc Weiss product claims to make the Ich 'go dormant' but does not claim to cure Ich. I know this may just be symantics but there is a difference between 'cure/eliminate' and 'control'. This product may control an Ich outbreak or minimize the amount of Ich noted when new fish are introduced or may even keep you from seeing any effects of Ich in an otherwise healthy tank or fish. That is great. However, I do not know of any medication that is safe to add directly to a reef that will eliminate Ich from fish while they are in a reef.
I could not find a list of ingredients when I 'googled' the product. What are the active ingredients in it? Are they displayed on your bottle? Thanks
To the original poster. I would wait two more weeks.

alright, sigh, I'll wait 2 more weeks!
also, there has not been any fish in that tank for four weeks...only inverts, corals, ... but a couple times I cleaned the qt with the same sponge, right after I cleaned the dt. OOpps! will that be alright?
