Lionfish have venom only in their spines, not in their mouth. If the bite broke the skin I would wash it very thoroughly, and apply some antiseptic since infection is a real concern.

depends....if you pull back a numb i'd say getting bitten would be worse....if its a little scratch, then stung would be.

Lionfish do not have venomous bites. The dorsal spines do carry a toxin and can be very dangerous.
The sting is much worse imo because i have a 5 in long lionfish and when i go to feed him he sometimes bites my finger and it doesn't hurt. Anyways, lionfish kind of suck food in and don't bite it.
