im thinking about getting a sfe. i have a 50 gallon tank w/ live rock and i have a yellow tang, 2 clarkii clowns, one lunar wrasse, 2 pyjama cardinals, various snails/ crabs/ coral banded shrimp, melas angel. i also have a bubble coral and a frogspawn. will a sfe be ok with these fish and how long does it take a six inch snowflake to get big. thanks in advance

i wouldnt do it, that tank is about maxed out as it is. im real suprised the lunare hasnt wreacked havoc on the tank yet. if you want a sfe, you could buy a tank (30 minimum for the eel only),but id suggest a 55 for the eel and the wrasse, and you could maybe add one more fish. bo

i agree your tank is full stocked already if you want the eel get rid of the other fish and keep it with the tang but really a 50 is a bit small for the tang

I have to agree w/ all above, I have a snowflake..I bought it about 1 month ago and it was already over a foot long..when I added 3 small yellow tang (stupidly) they all died(the eel emits alot of waste) the sfe is a very strong fish..I enjoy seeing him swim his looong body through the tank w/ nothing in his way..instead I bought a blue star.which adds alot(maybe later a dwarf lion)I only have a 55 gal as well...
