Hi everyone
As i start to slowly populate my tank (my intentions are to start with a cleaning crew and go from there) can i leave the original light fixture from when the tank was fresh water in place or do I have to switch to a vho immediately; which I really don't have the money for right now?

You can use the basic lighting at the beginning, or indefinitely if you aren't keeping corals/anemones.

I've started to see tiny feathers starting to grow on the LR. Will they be in danger if I keep the basic lighting? They are about an 1/8" opening and closing. Will they grow, stay the same, die. Any thoughts
Thanks

they will come and go not really a major concern with lighting i find mine grow better in caves and shaded spots. you will get better corraline growth once you upgrade lighting but for now fowlr reg florecent is ok just make sure bulbs are for saltwater and not freshwater. i believe that could cause problems.

Try and get a 10k 12k or 14k bulb. If you are using a store bought light for fresh water its probably only 6k.
