Most fish can survive copper treatment. However, copper can cause problems for sensitive fish like angels, butterflies and tangs. This is the primary reason that hyposalinity is the preferred treatment for ich. Hyposalinity actually decreases stress for fish while copper can increase stress. Is this really what you want to do for a fish which is already ill?
If you are using already copper, you really should use a test kit to measure the levels of the form of copper that you are dosing to decrease the possiblity of harm and to ensure treatment success.

the coral beauty has been in qt for 2 days he looks way better. the white spots are almost gone. the problem i have is that the reef tank has a clown and a LW Blenny and they show no signs of ich.why is the CR angel more suseptible in my tank. is it from the LFS or is my tank corrupted with this parisite. I have a 55 galon tank with about 60 lbs. of live rock everything seems healthy until i introduse new fish. i am happy with what i have but i cant bring new fish in without them getting ich. perplexed.:notsure: :notsure: :notsure:
