Is he ok?

I also posted this question on the Reef Tank forum. My clown seems to hang out in the back of my tank by the filter intake. He eats like a pig and all the levels are fine. A lot of times he will kinda get on his side (not completely) Comments from the other forum suggest that he may be hosting this area and someone else had their clown host the same area. I just removed the royal gramma he was with about a week ago. That is when this started. The LFS suggested that he is staking out his new territory and it may be due to the aggresion from the royal gramma(why we removed him). Any more opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this is your case but many clown fish will stay very near where they were released into a new tank until they become accustomed to their new surroundings. Some like to play in the current of the filters as well.

I have the same problem. My clowns love the stupid filter. They like to play in the flow and the sleep behind where it hangs on the tank. I even bought them a BTA and they haven't taken to it yet. Hopefully they will so I can see them more. I can't see them at all unless I feed or go to side of the tank and look in the back. Kinda disappointing.

Thanks everyone I feel much bettr now! He has been coming out more within the past 2 days and I'm hoping he will stay closer to the front. I tried rearranging some of the rock to try to discourage him from going back by the filter and it seems to have worked.
