is it alright

Just bought a skimmer (Coralife super skimmer) and 2 power heads. I pretty sure my 30 gal tank in cycling. My question is it alright to run the power heads and the skimmer while it is cycling? Or should the be off? Also once the cycle is complete do you run the skimmer 24/7 or can you turn it off once in a awhile. Thanks again.

I ran mine while cycling. No problems. I think it's good to at least run the powerheads. On the skimmer, there isn't a lot to skim during cycling (assuming you're not cycling with live animals), but I don't think it hurts to run.

Since your skimmer probably has some filtering in it, you probably want to run water through it to get the bacteria in the filter matter.
Plus, its fun to watch the skimmer slowly activate.

My skimmer runs 24/7. Is that what you mean?
