3x400 is heavy heat IMO, how deep is the tank? if running the 400's you may need to put the lights high above the tank so you dont boil your water. Also dont forget about feeling it in the wallet when comes time to pay the electric bill.

well at 36" depth I would actually vote more towards the 400's.
