Looks like something may be eating away at the base of that front stalk??
nope. that's just a hole where it grabs the rock. i don't think that's the problem.
it just looks kind of shrunken and purple =(
check out the tips of each finger, they are more closed than the before photo

give it more flow and more light that should help it open more. It looks like you just turned on the lights if not it needs to be a little hire in the tank

Don't see much of a difference between the two pics. I had trouble with this particular leather. I feel as if the lighting demands are higher. I began by placing the finger leather high under PC and it thrived. Thrived so much that it began to touch neighboring corals. I moved it down into the sandbed and 2weeks later it went into the trash.

leathers when introduced into a new tank will go into a shedding period where the polyps wont come out. This is perfectly normal and expected. I wouldnt worry to much about it unless it starts to melt and disentegrate.

its molting....mine shrinks to nothing gets purple'ish, shrivels all up and looks dead for a few days to a week. After that, it will get a shiny coating all over the leather and its skin will start to slough off , after that for a day, it will be bigger and more beautiful.
