ok my coral hasnt opened it 2 days i was just wonderin if it was dead...and how long after adding additives to the water should i wait before i test again ?

Fox coral? Did it look like parts of it were melting away. If so, then yeah he is probably dead. They are very picky.

no it didnt look like it was melting away.....just just closed up 2 days ago....and hasnt opened up ...

Has anything changed in your tank? lights, currents, water conditions,etc...?

ya i added 1 more 95w actinic bulb and one 95w daylight bulb...could that be the reason ?

If nothing else changed then that is probably the reason. There really is no magic formula with corals. I would suggest moving them somewhere else, and see how they respond. Perhaps you can move them little lower, away from the new light. First see what others say, but I am pretty sure that the new light is the problem. When you do move them, make sure that the current remains the same as in the old spot.
