Is it gone?

This last weekend I placed my maroon clown back into the main tank after a 5 week stay at the hypo hotel! I monitored him for a week in the QT before I put him back in the main tank. Everything looked okay.
It has been a couple days in the main tank and I notice one little white spot just behind its gills. Could this be the return of ich or is this something else?
Maybe it is too early to tell...
One more question.
Is it necessary to change the water in the QT before I get new fish? And if so, why? Through water changes while raising the salinity, I have basically done a complete water change....
Any info would help...

Hey,
It sounds like it may be getting ich again. If the fish isn't stressed it MAY clear up.
As far as your QT, as long as you don't put any fish in it for a couple of weeks you should be OK. (It takes about that long for the ich parasite to die off with no host fish present.) It sounds like you've done a water change anyway. I would still hold off putting healthy fish in it for at least two weeks.
