I have read online some people feeding the cooked seafood from the grocery store...is this ok to feed a puffer? It is the stuff not really cooked in anything but the mix for like a seafood salad with squid shrimp etc. Is this stuff alright?

Yes, I have fed frozen versions of this. I would not feed this ALONE as a staple diet...especially because they benefit from the eating harder things like shells. But so long as it is not cooked in any spice or anything it is ok.

ophiura would know better than me, but i think that cooked seafood would have less nutrients than the raw seafood. i guess it wouldnt be bad, but raw seafood is what these fish eat naturally.

Again, diversity is key. But when you consider the processing in most fish food? A bit of cooking is not going to destroy things...but if all you feed is cooked shrimp? Not the best...if all you feed iscleaned raw shrimp? Not good either.

By the way this cooked seafood mix is fantastic for making your own fish food. Thrown in a blender with nori, flake food and a variety of other stuff it makes a much better and cheaper alternative to buying the stuff from the LFS.
