my tank began it's cycle almost 3months ago...at the 2 month mark i added my lr and 3 days later my ammonia was at 0 and my nitrates were at 25...that was 3 weeks ago and i will test again tonight to confirm that my levels have not gone up any (and they really should be lower after 3 weeks)...assuming this is true does anyone see anything wrong with me transfering my snowflake eel to my new tank in the next few days???
i know i've waited longer than many people on this board and my levels are good, but since he is such a messy eatter i wasn't sure if i should wait till more bacteria grows to filter his mess...or if adding something was necessary in order to stimulate bacterial growth...
sorry so long, but thanks for advice,
mike

I would say If your NITRITES and AMMONIA is at zero it should be ok, snowflakes are very hardy, I would only put him in for now than maybe in a month you could add another fish if your readings were still good.cya :D

I think you will be fine. Make sure lid is tight and it has some rocks to live in and under and it will be very happy in its new digs.

yeah, that's why i want to move him this weekend...the old tank is in bad shape (it stayed with my mom after i moved out) so it hasn't gotten as much attention as it should have...it also has no lr (only a few store bought pieces of dead coral and rock) and a gravel substrate complete with undergravel filter  ...all thanks to my local *****.
so after more than a year of reading different BB's i now have a more suitable home for him...
thanks,
mike

hey man, all is well if you want to add your eel now, i do agree however on testing yur nitrates, if they are high you can still add your eel , there is a phenominal product on the market today made by aqua marine its a phosphate eliminator and almost immidiatly reduces your nitrates and phosphates to a level which is safe for your fish. i am one who doesnt believe in adding chemicals, but i was put into a situation where i was forced to do so. good luck

being patient like that gives you a big leg up on your fellow hobbyist. i'm sure you will be rewarded. your tank sounds more than ready for new additions.
