I went to my boss's house ,to check out his new corals and on top of his canopy was to 4" speakers for his dvd player. is this ok or will it hurt the fish.

I think the vibrations caused by the sound waves coming from the speakers will stress out the fish, which can be detrimental to their health...

I would take it off of the tank. I should talk though. I have a 200 watt tower next to my 20. I haven't noticed any adverse effects from it and the tank has been there for well over a year running either fresh or salt. If he wants a speaker next to his tanks then the least he can do is make sure the speaker doesn't touch the tank as it will cause sound vibrations as well as the speaker vibrating the tank from touching it.
