Is it possible to get MH lights on a budget?

I am a college student and money is a big issue. I want to start upgrading my equipment and was wondering if its possible to get MH lights cheap (or relatively cheap)?
Also i don't really know what kind of lights i should get for my 55 reef. I have 130 watt compact now, and would like to upgrade. What should i get?

2x250 watt double-ended MH along with your 130 watts of PC as actinics would be great. They'll be cheaper if you just buy seperate parts and put it all together yourself: ballasts, sockets, wires, bulbs, and reflector.

You can look for USED ones in for sale threads or auctions or bulliton boards at LFS, news papers, ect. You will probly have to get new bulbs but were always haveing to get new bulbs darn it....
